The Jump Book

Needless to say, subconsciously a huge influence for starting Jump! is Philippe Halsman's work. When I researched my favorite jumping photo, I discovered Halsman's collected images of famous people jumping in his Jump Book.

If the Duke and Duchess of Windsor can jump, so can you!

Halsman was one expert portraitist taking photos of celebrities jumping; Jump! is in the same spirit, but will be a participatory collection of photos of regular people jumping, taken by as many contributors as possible.

Why Not Jump?

Jump!

Jumping at Versailles
There is something so joyous about defying gravity, if only for a moment.

I was just inspired when I saw some Facebook photos of my daughter's friends jumping. Already in possession of a few jumping photos of my own, I decided to start "Jump!" I'll post my own photos of folks jumping in various locations.

If anyone else is inspired, you can send me photos of people jumping in funny, exotic, or mundane places, to jumpingpeople@gmail.com
